Sorry for being shameless but the Blacklist is back, kiddos!
Dear Readers and Comrades of All Stripes,
I find Subscription Paywalls odious and have since the newspapers first introduced the technology to privilege content for digital consumers. I also find that it grants my opinion greater freedom from unmerited scrutiny. Not having readers financing my writing directly means that they cannot influence my opinions, something granting significant comfort to me in an era when so many self-described “Progressives” have unnecessarily compromised themselves on issues of war and the empire.
I began writing columns for publication twenty years ago come September. I have been a college print periodical, web, and book editor at various times, have published with national venues (as always, sending appreciation to Ken Silverstein, Jeffrey St. Clair, and Joshua Frank for their space). Unless I were pursuing a unique content creation project (something I have actually been considering recently…), I never want to use the paywall.
So please consider spending some of that vacation cash here, either in terms of some beach reading or maybe a snazzy Sacred Heart of St. Buddy Cianci tee shirt.
